D-S-Design Studio Wins the Shaftesbury Chamberpot Award!

On 2nd March 2025, I was thrilled to be interviewed by Alfred News after receiving the Shaftesbury Chamber of Commerce Chamberpot Award — a £250 grant that supports local businesses working to grow their presence and strengthen the local economy. 🏆

This recognition means a great deal, celebrating the work I’ve put into helping small businesses across Shaftesbury and Dorset stand out through creative web design, branding, and social media management.

From Hobby to Local Design Studio

In the Alfred interview, I spoke about how D-S-Design Studio began. I built my first website at 16 — originally just to share my schoolwork — but that early interest quickly became a real passion.

My first professional project was designing a website for the musical duo Belle-Street, and since then, every client has found me through local connections and word of mouth. It’s a reflection of Shaftesbury’s incredible sense of community and how much local businesses support one another.

Community, Connection, and Creativity

Working part-time at The Grosvenor Arms has played a big role in my journey. It’s where I’ve met countless local business owners, creatives, and entrepreneurs — many of whom have since become clients or collaborators.

That’s one of the things I love most about Shaftesbury: how one conversation over coffee can turn into a long-term working relationship built on trust and creativity.

Investing in Growth and the Future of D-S-DesignStudio

Winning the Chamberpot Award has helped me reinvest in marketing materials, professional design tools, and other creative resources that allow me to keep improving what I offer.

It’s also inspired me to continue expanding my services — helping more Dorset businesses create beautiful, functional websites that make a real impact.
