D-S-Design Studio featured by Cyberstaff for its AI receptionist success.
I’m pleased to share that D-S-Design Studio has been featured in an official customer success story by Cyberstaff, highlighting how introducing an AI receptionist has helped improve communication, manage incoming enquiries and support the continued growth of the studio.
As an independent, multi-award-winning web design and creative studio based in Shaftesbury, Dorset, providing a professional and reliable customer experience has always been important to me.
Running D-S-Design Studio independently means managing everything from website design and development to branding, SEO, client meetings, administration and ongoing support.
While that personal approach is something I value, it also means I cannot always answer the telephone when I’m working on a project, attending a meeting or speaking with another client.
That’s where Cyberstaff has made a difference.
Having now been featured in their published case study, I wanted to share more about why I introduced the service, how it works and what it means for D-S-Design Studio clients.
One of the biggest challenges of running an independent business is balancing the work itself with the communication and administration that comes with it.
When I’m designing a website, developing a project in Webflow or meeting with a client, answering every incoming telephone call isn’t always practical.
However, I also understand how frustrating it can be for someone trying to contact a business when they cannot get through.
Potential clients may have questions about a new website, an existing customer might need assistance, or someone may simply want to arrange a meeting.
I wanted to make sure those enquiries were handled professionally, even when I wasn’t immediately available.
The solution needed to support the way I already run D-S-Design Studio rather than replace the personal service clients receive.
To address this, I introduced an AI-powered receptionist through Cyberstaff.
The receptionist answers incoming telephone calls on behalf of D-S-Design Studio, helping callers reach the right next step without relying entirely on voicemail.
It can assist with:
The receptionist follows a structured approach designed specifically around D-S-Design Studio and the services I provide.
Importantly, it doesn’t replace me.
I remain responsible for every project, client relationship and business decision.
The receptionist simply helps make communication more accessible, efficient and organised.
One of the most encouraging parts of introducing the AI receptionist has been seeing the impact on incoming enquiries.
As highlighted in the Cyberstaff case study, the service has helped manage approximately 10–15 calls per week, ensuring callers can speak to the receptionist and leave the information I need to follow up.
The published case study also highlights that the studio acquired two to three new clients during the first month of using the service.
For an independent business, those results are particularly meaningful.
Even one missed enquiry can represent a significant opportunity, especially when someone is looking for a complete website, branding project or ongoing support.
Having a system in place to handle calls means I can concentrate on delivering client work while still maintaining a professional first point of contact.
It’s a practical improvement that has already demonstrated its value.
You can read more about these results in the official D-S-Design Studio Cyberstaff case study.
Although technology plays an important role in how I run D-S-Design Studio, I’ve always wanted the business to remain personal.
When someone works with the studio, they’re working directly with me.
I’m the person discussing their requirements, designing their website, developing their project and providing ongoing support.
Introducing an AI receptionist hasn’t changed that.
Instead, it has helped improve the initial communication process.
Callers can explain what they need, provide their contact information and leave a message for me to review.
I can then follow up personally with the relevant information.
For me, this is an example of using technology to support customer service rather than allowing automation to take over the entire experience.
One of the biggest benefits of introducing the AI receptionist is that D-S-Design Studio can now provide a consistent telephone answering service, even when I’m busy working on client projects, attending meetings or otherwise unavailable.
Both of my business contact numbers are supported by the AI receptionist.
Mobile: 07596 910449
Calls come directly to me when I’m available. If I cannot answer, they are redirected to my AI receptionist.
Business Landline: 01747 449974
Calls to the business landline are answered by the D-S-Design Studio AI receptionist.
This means that whether someone calls my mobile or landline, they can still speak to the receptionist rather than simply reaching voicemail.
The AI receptionist can collect enquiry details, take messages, identify urgent website support requests and provide general information about the studio.
Once I’m available, I can review the information and follow up personally.
For clients, this means there’s always a way to get their message through, regardless of which number they call.
As a web designer, I spend a significant amount of time helping other businesses use technology more effectively.
That might involve improving their website, simplifying their customer journey, introducing online booking functionality or making their services easier to access.
I believe it’s equally important to apply those principles to my own business.
Over time, I’ve continued improving the systems behind D-S-Design Studio, including:
Each improvement has the same underlying objective: making the experience of working with D-S-Design Studio as straightforward and professional as possible.
The AI receptionist is another part of that process.
Existing clients can also access the D-S-Design Studio Client Area to submit support requests and access useful information.
It’s particularly rewarding to see the experience documented in an official customer success story.
The feature explores why I introduced the service, how it has been implemented and the impact it has had on the studio.
I appreciate Cyberstaff taking the time to share the story and highlight how its technology can support independently operated businesses.

The case study provides additional insight into the experience and the results achieved during the initial period of using the service.
2026 has been an important year for D-S-Design Studio.
Alongside exciting client projects, continued professional development and being recognised with business awards, I’ve also spent considerable time improving how the studio operates behind the scenes.
While new websites and branding projects are often the most visible parts of the business, the systems supporting them are just as important.
Introducing an AI receptionist has been one of those improvements.
It allows me to spend more time concentrating on the creative and technical work clients hire me to deliver, while helping ensure incoming calls are handled professionally.
As the studio continues to grow, I’ll keep looking for practical ways to improve efficiency, communication and the overall client experience.
If you’re considering a new website, refreshing your branding or improving your existing online presence, I’d be happy to discuss your project.

Both telephone numbers are supported by my AI receptionist, ensuring calls can still be answered when I’m unavailable.
Because providing a professional customer experience shouldn’t depend on whether I’m able to answer the telephone at that exact moment.
