Karren Burkett is a contemporary artist based in Shaftesbury, Dorset, known for her expressive and timeless artwork.
She approached D-S-Design Studio to create a modern online portfolio that not only showcased her collections beautifully but also allowed her to sell her work directly through her own website.
2️⃣ The Challenge
Karren needed a clean, professional platform that put her artwork first while giving her complete independence to manage and update her site. The goal was to create a digital gallery that felt simple, elegant, and intuitive for buyers and collectors alike.
3️⃣ The Solution
I designed and built a minimal, art-focused website with a spacious layout, soft neutral palette, and refined typography to let her paintings take centre stage.
A fully integrated CMS gives Karren the freedom to upload new pieces, manage inventory, and adjust content easily. The site includes a Square-powered e-commerce system, providing a secure, seamless checkout experience for online sales.
Filtering tools were added to improve usability, allowing visitors to sort by size, medium, and price — creating a smooth, gallery-like browsing experience.

The finished website is both elegant and practical — a digital exhibition that truly represents Karren’s artistry.
It enables her to reach new audiences, manage her portfolio independently, and sell her work online with ease. The result is a refined, scalable platform that grows alongside her career.
